ProCare Padded Aluminum Finger Splint – Cut-to-Fit Strips, Pack of 12

An injured finger rarely matches a pre-shaped splint. The ProCare® Finger Splint solves that: each strip is 1/2 inch wide and 18 inches long, so you cut it to length and bend it to the exact shape the finger needs. One side is lined with closed-cell Hydroloc foam for comfort against the skin. Supplied as a pack of 12 strips, which makes it a stocking item rather than a single-use purchase.

How to Cut and Shape It

  1. Hold a strip against the finger and mark the length you need, allowing enough to support the joint above and below the injury.
  2. Cut the strip to length with bandage shears, and round off the cut corners so there are no sharp edges.
  3. Bend the strip to the required angle, keeping the foam side against the skin.
  4. Place it on the finger and check the fit before securing.
  5. Secure with tape or a finger wrap – the splint has no fastening of its own.
  6. Check the fingertip after a few minutes. Colour change, numbness or tingling means the wrap is too tight.

Care and Storage

  • Single-patient use. Do not reshape and reuse a strip on another person.
  • Wipe an unused strip with a damp cloth if needed and let it dry fully before storing.
  • Store flat and dry so the strips do not bend in the box.
  • Discard any strip where the foam has torn away from the aluminum.
