The Melgisorb Plus Calcium Alginate Dressing 2 x 2 in from Molnlycke is a sterile, highly absorbent wound dressing designed for moderately to heavily exuding partial- and full-thickness wounds. The square pad is made from soft calcium alginate fibers that respond quickly to wound fluid, transforming into a conformable gel that helps maintain a moist healing environment without macerating surrounding skin.

On contact with exudate, the alginate forms a soft, cohesive gel that lifts loose debris and supports autolytic debridement. The gentle gelling action helps clinicians manage drainage in pressure injuries, leg and diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, surgical wounds, and traumatic abrasions where exudate control is essential to recovery.

Engineered to release cleanly from the wound bed, this dressing minimizes pain at dressing changes and reduces the risk of disturbing newly formed granulation tissue. The 2 x 2 in square format is well suited to small to medium wounds, partial cavity packing, and use beneath a secondary cover dressing for secure retention and added absorption.
