The ProCare Stax finger splint is a pull-on finger splint made of lightweight beige plastic. What Is a Stax Finger Splint?

A Stax splint, often called a stack splint, is a small plastic cap that fits over the last joint of the finger. With a mallet finger, the tendon that straightens the fingertip is torn or stretched, so the tip droops. A mallet finger splint like the ProCare Stax holds the fingertip so the tendon can heal. Wear it as long as your clinician tells you to, because taking it off too soon can undo the healing.

How to Put On a Finger Splint

Pick the size your clinician chose, then slide the splint over the tip of the injured finger so the fingertip sits in the closed end. Secure it as your clinician shows you. Enovis sells padded finger straps as a separate item. If you need to take the splint off to clean the skin, many clinicians advise keeping the fingertip straight, for example resting it flat on a table, until the splint is back on. Ask your clinician before you remove it.
