The HydraFlock® nasopharyngeal collection swab from Puritan Medical Products is engineered for accurate, reliable specimen capture in a clinical or laboratory setting. Its 6 inch polystyrene handle and flocked mini-tip work together to reach the nasopharynx comfortably while pulling cells, microorganisms, and trace material away from sensitive tissue. The sterile, individually packaged design supports clean, predictable workflows from collection to transport.

The flocked tip is built from polyester bicomponent fibers arranged perpendicular to the shaft, which helps the swab absorb a higher cell yield and release samples more completely than traditional wound-fiber swabs. A soft, smooth tip helps minimize patient discomfort during a typical naso-collection, while the tapered handle (0.098 inch reducing to 0.049 inch at the tip) keeps the swab steady through narrow anatomical passages.

This configuration is ideal for nasopharyngeal and urethral cell collection, rapid diagnostic testing, microbial isolation, and forensic evidence sampling. The polystyrene shaft is offered without a breakpoint, making it well-suited to applications where the entire handle stays intact through the collection. Other handle versions with 80 mm or 100 mm breakpoints are available separately when downstream tube transport requires a snap.

Items Damaged During Shipping: If your product shows up damaged, make sure to note it when you get it and don't accept it, especially for big items. We'll only accept returns for defective products, and in those cases, we'll cover the return shipping. If you don't report the damage upon delivery, unfortunately, we won't be able to organize return shipping, and you'll be responsible for all the associated costs.

Returns Due to Change of Heart: Changed your mind? No worries! You have 30 days to return the unused product in its original packaging. You'll cover the return shipping, and once we get it back, we'll refund the product price, minus the shipping cost.
