Product Overview

The Medline I.V. sponge is a precut, fenestrated 2"" x 2"" gauze pad designed to wrap cleanly around drainage tubes, IV catheters, central lines, and similar puncture sites. The fenestration (pre-cut slit) lets the sponge slide around tubing and lie flat against the skin without puckering — the kind of clean fit that keeps a dressing securing tape line stable and the access site visible.

Six plies of rayon/polyester blend deliver high absorbency with low lint, so wound exudate, blood, or seepage at the line site wicks into the dressing fast and stays there instead of streaking across the skin. The pre-cut design saves a step on the sterile field — no scissors required, and no need to break sterility to cut a slit by hand.

Use as a primary or secondary dressing under an occlusive dressing or transparent film at IV insertion sites, central venous lines, gastrostomy tubes, surgical drains, or chest tube exits. Each pack ships sterile and contains 2 sponges, sized for a small footprint on tight body locations.

Nursing teams across med-surg, ICU, oncology infusion, and home infusion appreciate the time the precut shape saves at every dressing change, and the secure flat fit means tape and transparent film stick to skin rather than to a folded sponge edge.

Items Damaged During Shipping: If your product shows up damaged, make sure to note it when you get it and don't accept it, especially for big items. We'll only accept returns for defective products, and in those cases, we'll cover the return shipping. If you don't report the damage upon delivery, unfortunately, we won't be able to organize return shipping, and you'll be responsible for all the associated costs.

Returns Due to Change of Heart: Changed your mind? No worries! You have 30 days to return the unused product in its original packaging. You'll cover the return shipping, and once we get it back, we'll refund the product price, minus the shipping cost.

Refund Process: After we check and approve your returned product, we'll send you an email. Expect the refund to your original payment method within a week. Keep in mind that depending on your bank or card provider, it might take a bit longer for the refund to show up.
