Confirm the patient's allergy status against the chart before applying. Wrap the band around the patient's wrist with the red Allergy legend facing outward for clear visibility. Pull the band through the snap closure, leaving comfortable space for circulation, and press the Secursnap® closure firmly until it locks. Once snapped, the band cannot be reopened or transferred, providing tamper-evident identification for the duration of the patient's stay. Verify the band is secure but not constrictive before completing intake or rounds.
