Shoulder Immobilizer or Arm Sling?

A plain arm sling only cradles the forearm. A shoulder immobilizer sling like this one adds a waist strap that holds the arm against the body, so the shoulder moves less. That is why it is also called an arm immobilizer. Wear it for as long as your doctor tells you, and take it off only when they say it is safe.

How to Put On a Shoulder Immobilizer

Slide the forearm into the sling so the elbow sits at the closed end. Bring the shoulder strap behind the neck and fasten it, then wrap the waist strap around the body and fasten it with the contact closure. Adjust both straps so the arm is supported comfortably, the way your clinician shows you.

Who Is It For?

Adults whose doctor has asked them to keep the shoulder and arm still, and clinics that stock a shoulder immobilizer in Large and X-Large. Also see the ProCare Deluxe sling and swathe, the ProCare Deluxe shoulder / arm immobilizer, universal, or browse all braces and supports.
