A foam padded tongue with removable stays adds comfort over the top of the foot, the brace fits either foot, and it is latex free. To put on a lace up ankle brace, loosen the laces, slide the foot in so the heel sits at the back of the brace, then pull the laces snug from the bottom up and tie them. The brace should feel firm but not tight, and you should still be able to wear your normal shoe over it. The stays are removable, so ask your doctor or therapist whether to wear the brace with or without them. Loosen it if your toes tingle or feel numb.
