Product Overview

Mextra Superabsorbent is Mölnlycke's superabsorbent wound dressing engineered for highly exuding chronic wounds — venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and certain pressure injuries — where standard foam and alginate dressings reach saturation faster than the wound can be reasonably managed.

The dressing combines polyacrylate superabsorbent particles with a fluid-repellent backing film. The polyacrylate core wicks fluid in and locks it away, even under compression — meaningful for venous ulcer patients in multi-layer compression — while the backing prevents strike-through onto clothing or secondary wraps. The polyacrylate also has protease-modulating activity that contributes to a healing-conducive wound environment.

The 5" x 5" square covers medium-to-large wound beds and can be applied directly to the cleansed wound or used over an alginate or contact layer per protocol. Indicated for moderate to highly exuding wounds; reduce risk of leakage and periwound maceration by changing as drainage dictates rather than by a fixed schedule.

If you don't report the damage upon delivery, unfortunately, we won't be able to organize return shipping, and you'll be responsible for all the associated costs.

Returns Due to Change of Heart: Changed your mind? No worries! You have 30 days to return the unused product in its original packaging. You'll cover the return shipping, and once we get it back, we'll refund the product price, minus the shipping cost.
