Product Overview

The Mölnlycke Mextra® Superabsorbent Dressing is a sterile 5 x 7 inch rectangular wound dressing engineered for managing highly exuding wounds. The blue/white pad combines a polyacrylate superabsorbent core with a fluid-repellent backing film, supporting longer wear cycles between dressing changes for clinically demanding wound presentations.

The polyacrylate superabsorbent particles draw exudate into the dressing core and lock it away from the wound bed, helping reduce the risk of leakage and skin maceration. This makes the dressing well suited to venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and select pressure ulcers where high exudate volume is part of the wound profile.

The dressing also provides protease-modulating activity, supporting an environment more conducive to healing in chronic wounds. Combined with the fluid-repellent backing, the dressing helps protect bedding, clothing, and surrounding skin from secondary contamination and helps maintain a more comfortable wear experience for the patient.

Each dressing is supplied sterile and is borderless, making it appropriate for use under secondary retention dressings or compression bandages. HCPCS code A6252.
