The Airex balance beam is a soft foam balance beam made from closed-cell, ultra-soft specialty foam that contains millions of air bubbles. It gently compresses as you stand on it, so it feels as if you are standing on a cloud, and that soft, moving surface turns every step into a balance challenge. Like Airex exercise mats, Airex balance products are effective for sport training, rehabilitation and physiotherapy. How to Use a Foam Balance Beam

Place the beam on a flat, non-slip floor next to a wall, counter or parallel bars, and step on barefoot. Begin by standing with both feet on the beam, then walk slowly heel to toe along its length. As balance improves, try tandem standing, side steps, walking backward, turning at the end of the beam, or adding a ball toss or head turns. Patients who are at risk of falling should always have a therapist or helper close by, and all exercises should follow the plan your physical therapist gives you.
