Product Description

The Baseline 6 inch plastic finger goniometer measures the range of motion (ROM) of the finger joints, both the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) and interphalangeal (IP) joints, and other small joints including the toes. Its unique one-finger design lets the therapist take a measurement with only one hand. That frees the other hand to stabilize the patient during the measurement or to write down the reading, while a standard finger goniometer needs two hands for a finger ROM measurement.

Key Features

  • One-hand design: measure with one hand and steady the patient with the other.
  • Finger and toe joints: MCP, IP and other small joints.
  • Clear head scale: 110° flexion through 40° hyperextension in 5° steps.
  • Linear scale: inches and centimeters on the arm.
  • Easy to read: opaque black plastic with white markings.

Measuring Finger ROM with a Plastic Goniometer

A plastic goniometer made for the fingers is small enough to sit on a single finger joint. Place the goniometer over the joint you are measuring, line it up with the finger segments on each side of the joint, and read the angle on the head scale. Because this design works with one hand, your free hand can hold the patient's hand steady or record the result right away. Repeat the measurement for each joint you need, and compare readings over time to track progress. The linear scale on the arm, marked in inches and centimeters, is handy for measuring short distances during the same visit.

Who Is It For?

Hand therapists, occupational and physical therapists, clinics and students who measure finger and toe range of motion. Also see the 6 inch deluxe finger goniometer, the Baseline 12 inch plastic goniometer and the extendable goniometer.
