Product Description

The MAPS Platform System Professional is a balance board system that offers adjustable range of motion (ROM) and weight training to maximize lower body rehabilitation. The reversible board has one side for the left foot and one side for the right foot. A 5-ball set, color coded yellow, red, green, blue and black from least to most difficult, screws into the MAPS board to provide a vestibular challenge, so you can make each session harder as the patient improves. An optional motion limiter can be used to limit range of motion. Choose the board only, or a complete system with balls, rods and weights.

How the MAPS Balance Platform Is Used

The patient stands with one foot on the board, using the left or right side of the reversible board, while the therapist screws in a ball of the right difficulty underneath. Start with the yellow ball for the most stable surface and progress through red, green and blue to black as balance and ankle control improve. With the weight systems, weight rods and disk weights add resistance for strengthening, while the optional motion limiter keeps the board within a safe range early in rehab. Always use the balance platform next to parallel bars or another sturdy support and under the guidance of a physical therapist.
