TheraBand extremity straps are a pair of neoprene straps that attach to your arms or legs to make exercising with TheraBand resistance bands or tubing more convenient and efficient. The band or tubing attaches to the strap, and the strap attaches to you, so you no longer have to worry about the band slipping up or falling down. The strap holds the band firmly and comfortably in place for the whole workout, and because you do not have to hold the band, no grip strength is needed. It is an excellent tool for working the legs or arms.

Using a Resistance Band Ankle Strap

Wrap a strap around the ankle or wrist and close the hook and loop strapping so it is snug but comfortable. Attach your band or tubing to the strap, and anchor the other end to a door anchor, an exercise station or a sturdy post. As a resistance band ankle strap, it is used for exercises such as standing hip kicks, side leg raises and knee extensions; on the wrist or forearm it works for shoulder and elbow exercises without gripping. Start with a lighter band color, move slowly through the full range, and follow the program your physical therapist gives you.
